Just about finished with this cane, made of maple (see below). I'm still adding scales (one-by-one) and will add a lacquer finish.

- Harry Wayne Owen is an Atlanta-based sculptor, woodcarver and painter. Born and raised in Virginia’s Tidewater region, he began drawing and painting at an early age. He worked as an advertising art director in television and for ad agencies and is now a partner in an Atlanta advertising creative services company. His popular walking sticks are hand-carved on a commission basis from local, sustainably harvested wood prunings, including dogwood, pecan, oak and walnut. He also works in exotic woods. Past commissions have featured druids, historical features, dolphins, dogs, a giraffe, a bear, a crescent moon and a series of pythons. Very, very cool. And you could use that cane to scare unwanted visitors off - just stick it out a cracked door before they knock.
Your work is incredible. Have you ever thought of selling it through "Etsy" It's a site for artists to sell their work - "everything that is hand-made" is sold there. It's exploding in size and providing artists and artisans a much wider audience than a lone website can.
